So the local beer store has a guy that tries really hard to get any beer possible from around the country and world (which is cool). Right now a bunch of bottles are on sale to move old stock. I grabbed this bottle and got home before realizing it's from 2012. Luckily, it has aged very very well.

Trying to find decent pale ales or golden ales for summer but they've been edged out over the past couple years because of the IPA trend. Those super hopped IPAs just don't do it for me when it's hot out. Elysian Super Fuzz blood orange pale is decently quaffable as is Alaskan Freeride Pale. Deschutes Mirror Pond or Kona Golden have also been making their way to the house.

Pretty much the only boy thing I don't want on a hot day is a barley wine or imperial stout or something like that. I find IPAs to be refreshing if they're not over-the-top. But....Bud Cheladas are actually a guilty pleasure of mine. Super refreshing. I never buy them where I buy "good" beer because I don't want to lose my cred.

I’ve been traveling a lot more so I’ve been visiting taprooms and bringing back bottles. The fridge door is full of them and they are all winter styles and seeing as this next week is finally going to start being sunny, I guess I’d better start cracking these open today.

Spruce is a powerful but tasty bittering spice. Did they combine it with hops or is it actually a spruce beer?

It wasn't a spruce kick to the face, so i can only assume there was at least some hops in there.

my wife bought a case of $20 wine at costco a couple days ago. I thought it tasted bad, but I drank it anyway. My wife couldn't even drink a glass. I've never had a cheap boxed franzia i couldn't drink. I'm grateful my wife was able to return the shitty wine.

A case that is $20 or a case of $20 bottles?

Either way I'm surprised, just for different reasons.
