I just worked my way through a mix twelve pack from double take brewery. pale ale, ipa, amber, and a wit. They were all very meh. Tasted like another fake craft beer attempt by a big brewery. None of them were bad, but just very boring, lifeless examples of their styles.

Earlier tonight I was nipping on a about a half dram of old crow, the last bottle of it my grandpa bought prior to his stepping off this mortal coil. It was purchased shortly after the end of WWI on his return to the states from Europe and sat untouched since he opened it on his anniversary. The bottle was gifted to me by my pops in his will, I have a wee sip on my grandparents anniversary each year, In the tradition set forth by my father. The bottle is nearly gone and is going to be placed on the highest shelf in the bar until my son is of proper age to pull down that bottle and finish it with his old man in 19 years. A fitting end to an old, old bottle of cheap whiskey.

Drinking a few glasses of cab, no idea the name.... It's from Tuscany and in a simple numbered bottle

I swiped a bottle from the gala thanksgiving event.

Brother in law shipped 12 cases over for the holidays. It must be spendy stuff because that's what he gravitates to.

Does it taste spendy? Or Boone's Farmy?

Spendy, but I'm a poor judge of wine, I drink what tastes good, usually that would be a 19 dollar cab or Malbec

Drinking a few glasses of cab, no idea the name.... It's from Tuscany and in a simple numbered bottle

I swiped a bottle from the gala thanksgiving event.

Never had box wine to my knowledge, but I'm open to suggestions!

Really into these seasonal bourbon and other spirits-finished beers right now! Found another of those Widmer specialty batch beers and something called The Abyss by Deschutes. They are hiding in the bottom drawer of my fridge. Might open them today if we go get the Christmas tree. Decorating plus beer plus a Star Trek marathon on TV is all good.

Well what I'm drinking right now. These are both drinkable but I think the black box is much better.

The Bota box Malbec is decent. At least you don't care after a bottle of good stuff!

Had to find a decent box to take camping and fishing so we didn't have to bring a bag of glass back with us.

I've been down on long trail in the past, but after meeting their quality assurance guy I thought I need to give it another shot. I'm not calling this the best Amarican style IPA but it's good and at a very reasonable price.

I find the winter beers aren't quite as dark or complex as the Fall beers?? Haven't seen anything yet to get worked up about. The good news is all the spirits are on sale now so we picked up a couple scotches and three bottles of rum/bourbon/brandy for egg nog!

goose island-ten hills pale ale. not bad, not great. i guess that's what you can expect from a beer that was brewed in new york by a chicago brewery?

i doubt it. goose island was bought out by budwieser a few years ago. they're all part of the collective now.

My Centennial IPA. It's good, but I'm getting tired of it.

Get something else going. Bottle the rest of this if you need the keg space.
