True, but it's even worse than I remember, at least it's still super cheap.

Are you suggesting the recipe changed or you did?

A little of both. It is a good example of the style and exactly what I should expect given the label. But I would like it more with more malt.

This time of year it's hot as hell and I'm leaning towards Pale Ales and things like raspberry wheat ales. Had a really delicious one by Icicle Brewing in Leavenworth, WA a week or so ago. It was 90 degrees out so perfect. Headed to Vancouver, Canada in a couple weeks - hoping to discover some new beers there.

This brewery did it how I always wanted to. Started out kegs only with three simple beers: an amber, a brown, and an IPA. They have become standard in local bars, and the masses love them. Now they're available in package! And they can barely keep up with demand because everyone already knows and loves their beer. Of course, this strategy is a little easier in a market with fewer options.

I'm scared to ask....what about this label turns you off?

it looks like it's not made by a European brewery that's been in business for more than 150 years.

Ah. Nope, rebellious Utahians. They make some damn good beer. I usually pick up a few bombers when I'm in SLC (which I will be for the next fiveish days). If I hadn't liked them before, I would never have bought something with "sour apple" in the name. But this...this was great.

I took a short one a couple hours ago. It was nice. --

You know...I don't think I've ever had Ommegang. I read about them in Playboy about a decade ago.

Outside of big beers and seasonal offerings I try to buy local beers. Sculpin gets a pass.

Go buy some of this, go now. Unless you like stupid hops, then you should go buy the stuff in the background, it's pretty good too.

It is. Fruity, slightly funky, dry but not too dry, and very drinkable (for 8.5%).

Adding roofies to the jungle juice would break some kind of ethics code or something, mostly my bro couldn't get enough.
