Chex mix recipe aka crack
  • Chex Mix

    3 c. each: rice chex, corn chex, wheat chex
    1 1/2 c. pretzels (thin sticks, small twists, etc.)
    3/4 c. peanuts
    3/4 c. cashews/pieces

    1 stick margarine
    6 T Worcestershire Sauce
    3 tsp. seasoned salt
    1 1/2 tsp garlic salt
    1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1 1/2 tsp onion salt
    1 1/2 tsp onion powder

    Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Mix all dry ingredients in roasting pan. Melt butter in saucepan over med. heat; add Worcestershire sauce and heat for a few minutes. Remove from heat and add all spices to mixture, stirring until dissolved. Pour liquid over dry ingredients and stir well to coat evenly. Bake at 250 for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread out on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.

    I will also say that this stuff is friggin awesome right out of the oven. Sometimes its not as "spicy" as others I think it has to do with how evenly the sauce gets mixed with the ingredients.

    i might try the crock pot version. uncovered on high for 70 min, then low for another 20 min, stirring every 15 or so.
