Samm Adam's India Pale Lager. yep, an ipa brewed as a lager.
Aroma-very typical west coast ipa. Hops dominate with a bright pine scent and a citrusy/tropical fruit background. No malt presence in the nose.
Flavor- The malt is very clean, big surprise from a lager, but supports the hop presence well. The hop flavor is very similar to the aroma, but in reverse. Citrusy/fruity hop flavors up front with a bright pine, slightly grassy finish that lingers.
Appearance-crystal clear, golden/light copper with a 2mm head that lingers throughout the glass. nice lacing as well.
Overall this was a nice beer. I personally think it might do better as an ale, but that's just my preference. I was lucky to score a fresh bottle, so the hop flavors were still bright and strong. Just the ticket for a quick hop fix between my normal malty beer. The pinnacle of lame and awesome in one singular moment. -Lake -

Hmmmm, I saw this the other day and dismissed it as a sam adams product (SOP for me)
Ever since trying their (cough syrup) cherry wheat a couple years ago, I stopped buying their beers.
Perhaps I should rethink......Jesus didn't wear pants -
