Ecplise is an oak aged Imperial Stout. The particular bottle I picked up was the 'black wax' which indicates a particular barrel source.

The beer poured a rich black, nose was chocolate and plum, the flavor was deep chocolate. Light clove and plum flavors were present as well. A good hint of brandy was present although it seemed to come across as whiskey at times as well. Body was full but not heavy. A touch of hop bitterness was obvious after the beer sat on the tongue.

Overall a very good representation of the oaked imperial stout.
