Santa arrived early!!

    So today minutes after I arrived home Santa showed up, wearing brown, his sleigh was brown, and inside his package was a load of bottles!

    So now my shorts are full of brown, I was gifted some homebrew!

    There are a few 'WH' bottles that I can only assume is a wee heavy!

    Thinking this calls for a kilted pic with the beer, a Scot wearing a Scottish kilt drinking a Scottish beer, it's a helluva theme!

    Here is the bottles!

    the imprint on those caps make it look like they were using a corker to cap. can you do that?

    I think it's a stand capper, not a hand held one

    my hand held wing capper will do that on certain bottles. it's the height of the bottle foreskin that does it.

    I've used caps that had that sort of impression already in it. Just the shape of the cap.

    that's pretty weird and cool. i've only used my stand capper with the bell shape at the bidness end.

    the wing cappers grip onto this lip (bottle foreskin) in order to force the bell down. if the lip is lower, the nut that holds the bell in place presses down on the top of the cap, creating the depression. it doesn't happen on bottles with a higher/smaller lip.

    Wh = wee heavy
    Owh = oaked wee heavy
    Ry = rye ipa - you might want to give one more week. Just bottled like 10 days ago.
    The last beer is one of the last chocolate peppermint Baltic porters. This beer is interesting because it changes as it warms.

    Thanks for all te help on the wee heavy recipe. Enjoy and have a merry Christmas.
