Was thinking we needed a place to talk about commercial beers we find that are good or maybe not so good. I'll be the first to admit I'm not great at tasting notes or providing a professional review. From time to time I find a really good beer that deserves some mention.

When I read the article they were complaining about the Raging Bitch artwork. Which is funny becuse the other day the ale house had it on tap and my wife said "you should order the Raging Wife". -

Lefty's Scottish Ale phase II was great... but you'll never see any of that. It's a nano around here. He made a batch (3bbl) of a 11% and put it in bourbon barrels and is bottling each barrel three month apart. The first batch was good but this one was much better. Looking forward to the last. Luckly my wife works at a place that sells it so she was able to grab a few before sold out.
That sounds amazing.

SN original stout. Pretty good. Thick, actually. Lots of mouthfeel, good aroma, good solid stout. Just the right amount of smooth bitter.
I was skeptical of the SN stout when I first had it, but it's quite good. Everything SN makes seems to be solid.
I was afraid they were going over hop it, because frankly thats their deal. But it really is a good stout.
over whatnow?
i don't think of SN as being a really hoppy brewery.

Yeah, I think they add way too much perfume for the amount of hops they use. -

Lakefront EYEpa is delicious. out of wisconsin, right on the lake.
very grassy hops, which is a flavor that, when done properly, i have really come to enjoy. very clean too. -
Oskar Blues brewery....awesome. I have had
Dales Pale Ale
Old Chub Scotch Ale
Ten Fidy Imperial Stout
Gubna IIPA
They are all freaking awesome. Even better they come in cans so they are great for the pool, beach or anywhere not good for a glass bottle. Check them out if you haven't already.

I'd give a dale's pale a "alright" on the "junk to great" scale.
I give Old Chub a quite good
I give the Imperial Stout a good, but too damn pricey
The make a red that's damn good, but damn pricey
I drink a lot of Old Chub.... I think I might have said that on here somewhere already....
If I made it I'd mash a 2F hotter. It would be better if it was a little less watery and had less "hotness" (taste of ethanol). -
I think it was this stuff... it was some Polish porter that I had yesterday. diffident label, but the name sounds about right. The stuff is like crack. Not much for hops, but an amazing burnt malt flavor. It's like eating special B that was roasted too long, but in the best way possible. Not too pricey for an import either. -

OBF 25 Baltic Porter, aparently not available off site. You should go to issaquah and drink this. Now.

I'm willing to spend the time to go through and move reviews into the correct folder.
-
I also think it would be good to do this to the recipe section as well.
-
Make things a bit easier to search and navigate
-
i am up to help with this as well. i would suggest removing the melomel section from the mead part and just go with traditional or other. very few "other" meads commercially available anyway, and most are cysers, which aren't technically melomels.
