I Mead advice
-
As background, my wife doesn't like beer. Can't stand the taste of any type of beer. Which has always worked out well for me since I have a built in DD.
Tuesday night I ordered a beer that I thought was a IPA but ended up being a Mead (I didn't read the description). I didn't discover the error until the server brought the mead. At that time my wife and I both thought the server brought a glass of white zin. It looked, smelled and even tasted like white zin. My wife took a sip and really liked it and now she wants me to make a mead.
I really don't know anything about them. I don't know if that a typical flavor profile? I've read through the mead section but thought I would ask here if anyone has a recipe that might fit that description?

This way seems legit to me. But....
If you want to make mead taste like that you use that Wyeast sweet mead strain and also hard water. The rest is all in the honey you use....but the yeast and hard water will get you most of the way there. -

I didn't say that.
I think it depends on if you think white zinfandel tastes good. -
