So I bought some glacier hops. Not sure why, but I did. What's your experience with these?

I was planning a simple extract ipa to get a feel for them, but I want a little insider info first.

I did an extract and steeping grains IPA once, with Amarillo for bittering, and glacier for the late additions. Turned out pretty dang good. I will consult my notebook, and pass on what I did.

Oh, yeah .... similar to fuggles, but brighter, and not as earthy. AA is also higher ...
It's a good flavor and aroma hop, if you don't want "cat piss and pine tar", but want a brighter hop profile

mmm, that sounds good. if the ipa works out, might just have to try and brew one of them cascadian dark ales with it. seems like that would be a nice match-up.

Here's what you do. Add 1/2 oz to the brew kettle and lager said brew until any and all identifying characteristics of the variety are mellowed out. Drink and enjoy malty goodness.

    hahah
But seriously, use big boy hops if you brew a cascadian dark ale. Otherwise you're just making a porter.
