I craked open another Double Barrel Ale, the one I gave you guys. The extra week has made a great deal of difference, chocolaty smell, hints of chocolate in the taste. I am happy as of now, it is much better than only a week ago. Try one when you get a chance, and then leave one for a bit and give me some feedback if you can. This is the one I left on wood chips for 19 days. It was also my first full boil batch w/the keggle. I filled it w/ a sink from by basement which I never thougt too much about. For some reason, after living here for 9 years, I tasted the water from that sink during the fermentation of this beer, and it tasted aweful!! Like it was drawn from a dirty septic tank. It must be the lines that feed the sink. It is just a wash sink in the basement next to my washing machine, used to clean paint brushes, etc. I never thought the water lines feeding it could alter the water taste so much. I have not used it since.
