    or tropical island beers, whatever....
if you had to be stuck with only 5 commercially made beers for the rest of your life, what would they be?

    here are mine:
    1:Pliny the elder
    2:two hearted
    3:Ruination
    4:Hopslam
    5:Busch*

*i fully expect to take some shit for Busch beer being on my list, but suck it. there is a place in my life for a light american lager. sometimes i want to drink 15 beers in a day, and those days i drink busch beer. also, it helps fix hop tongue, which would be pretty severe if the other 4 beers were all i had to drink.

    4. Rogue - Dirtoir Black Lager
    5. Lagunitas - Wilco Tango Foxtrot
    Amigo, lay them raises down.

    2. Stone Ruination
    3. Stone Double Bastard
    4. Old Rasputin
    5. Racer 5

This is of course all subject to change when I think of something else I would absolutely want

So in this fantasy I can have anything? Wow, this is awesome.

So, I would really like to drink that Westvleteren 12 every friggin day, so that's on the list for sure.

Pliny the Elder is coming along for the ride too.

A little Stone Ruination and maybe their Russian Imperial Stout to malty things up a bit when the occasion calls.

How many is that? Ooo I have one more.... I think I'll hold the slot open for now.

there's no way i could narrow it down to five that i would be happy with forever. i'd be sick of them after a month. i needs more variety!

five beers doesn't even cover all the beer styles i would want to bring.

Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier? That's several orders of magnitude more real when it comes to a Hefe. Besides, Blue Moon is supposed to be a Wit isn't it? It's a bad example of the style, but it's not even supposed to be a hefe.

it's all good. if he wants to have bottles of wheat clippings and baby vomit, i'm not one to judge. I just wanted to set the record straight as far as referring to that stuff as a hefe.

I think it is supposed to be something AB-InBev can sell to chicks. I honestly don't know what it is "supposed" to be. But I just thought of something better.

i've had it both before and after the budwiener corp bought it. there is a significant change in the product.

it was never a good wit, but now it tastes like bud light with a little wheat in the grist.

i would drink it before, it used to carry a lot more suspended yeast and a ton more malt flavors. now it's just water and a teensy bit of yeast sediment in a bottle. and the yeast is all clumpy and flocculant..

    Lagunitas brown sugga
    Chimay white label
    Guinness
Bud light, in case there's no water on this island.

The white chimey tastes like rubbing alcohol to me ..... the red is heaven in a glass

I'll keep that in mine... i often see chimey as cost prohibitive, but it's on my list of "need to try again now that I'm less dumb", and we seem to have similar taste... though the Stone on your list is, well, meh in my book, one of stones best but still a little chemical in flavor.
