I have a decent dry rub, anyone care to share their recipe? I'm always looking for improvement.

    That oughta bring someone in!

I think mine is just pedestrian. Brown sugar, kosher salt, cayenne pepper, cracked pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and I think that's about it. I make enough to use later. I like using it on pork chops, chicken breast.

with chicken breast and pork chops you don;t have to let it marinade just run it on right before cooking and it will give it some nice flavor

I use yellow mustard brushed on beef and pork before adding the dry rub, it helps stick the rub and adds a nice mild flavor, nobody ever picks up on any mustard flavor either. Just a slight twang of vinegar maybe

I use onion powder, regular sugar, new Mexico chili powder, sea salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and cumin in my rub.

I dug up a dry rub I used a couple years ago, jotted on a napkin and stashed in the recipe book...

    8 tbsp packed brown sugar
    3 tbsp sea salt
    1 tbsp chili powder
    1/2 tsp black pepper
    1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
    1/2 tsp old bay seasoning
    1/2 tsp thyme
    1/2 tsp onion powder

This looks good. Simple, I like it.

that's ok, it's pretty much freestyle anyway:

    garlic powder
    onion powder
    paprika
    salt
    pepper
    cumin
    chili powder
    powdered smoked jalapenos
rosemary (not too much, but not to little!)
    sliced oranges.

It's really the combo of the rosemary (not that it should be identifiable in the flavor) and the orange slices that make this a delicious rub. it also works great if you want to sauce afterwards.

Like the idea of rosemary in the rub, oranges I'm a bit at odds with

Yup .... overnight .... he would then dry it off and apply dry rub ... let it set for 4 hours or so before tossing them in the smoker

I prefer more of a balsamic vinaigrette with salad, not so much a dry rub. But a good rub does well shaken over French fries.
