Extract Rootbeer

    Anybody know anything about root beer? I have a bottle of extract. (for my wife) I'm going to add 4, maybe 5, gallons of water and sugar to taste then carb. But how many volumes? Yes I'm aware I will have to strip down and rebuild that keg if I ever want to use it for beer again.

    Not yet. My wife is on my ass about it though. I'm going to this weekend or next week while I'm off. I'll report back.

    what's the big deal, just fill the keg with water, add extract, add CO2.

    If you know how much sugar is in the extract you can do some simple calculation to make the sugar content about what is listed on nutrition facts of sodas.

    But really, you could have made it in the time it took me to write this.

    The extract is the tiny little bottle of extract. So i have to add sugar also.

    Word of warning....... do not mix up a batch of root beer in your fermenter!!!! even a week later it will leave root beer taste in beer....... gaak!
