    PUMPKIN ALE
    7 lbs. - LME – boil 60 minutes
    1 lb. - 20-40L crystal malt – steep then boil 60 minutes
    • Steep grain (malt) for 30 minutes in 160 deg. water.
    7 – 10 lb. Pumpkin
    • Roast pumpkin chunks for 1 hour, then insert in to beginning of boil of wort. After boil (60 minutes), mash pumpkin in strainer back into wort.
    1oz Mt. Hood Hops
    • ½ oz at beginning of boil
    • ½ oz last 15 min. of boil
    Yeast
    • English Ale Yeast - Add after wort has cooled between 85 – 75 degrees
    Spices
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract last 15 minutes of boil
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon last 15 minutes of boil
    • 1 tsp ground nutmeg last 15 minutes of boil
    • 1 tsp ground all spice last 15 minutes of boil
    • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice - ½ tsp at beginning of boil, ½ tsp last 15 minutes of boil
    • ½ tsp cloves last 15 minutes of boil
    Optional
    • 1 lb. Corn sugar
    • ½ tsp Irish moss for beer clarity

    Sounds good. I made a pumpkin spiced ale once. Used a Wit ale base and modified the spicing. I thought it was good, very festive. Most people wouldn't even try it because it sounded "strange"

    i need to load it into my beer program and tweek it so it has more creamy mouth feel
